Optical Configuration Research and Zemax Design
Description
The goal of this task is to begin Ex-3 Zemax simulations by playing around with different optical configurations. The first step is to conduct a literature/internet search to find out which optical configurations, if any, have been used on Cubesat/nanosatellite platforms. If this information does not exist or is too difficult to find, expand the search to include small satellites and, if necessary, satellites in general; an example of a generally used optical design on satellites is a 3-mirror anastigmat telescope. The second step in this task is to pick some configurations that may be feasible on a Cubesat platform in 1U of physical space and, taking this size constraint into account, simulate these configurations in Zemax. At this point, optimization of the light paths is not necessary.
Deliverable: Zemax simulation files (.ZOS) that show different possible optical configurations for VNIR/SWIR.
