To supplement work being done towards the Iris preliminary ICD, and to also accelerate work for pre-CDR, an Iris optics detailed design document should be populated with all the information pertaining to the optics design of Iris. This includes information on the chosen bands (what they are, why they were chosen, etc.), image sensor trade study information, SNR and spatial resolution, and the Zemax designs (the design constraints, assumptions, workflow, etc.). This will enhance the information in the preliminary ICD, and also aid in the future development of a complete Iris detailed design document (which is a deliverable for Critical Design Review (CDR)).
